Welcome to Chess For Change Academy!

Chess for Change Academy is a verified and registered Florida nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering students through chess, making high-quality chess education accessible to all, regardless of background or financial resources. Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic as a grassroots initiative to address educational disruption and social isolation, Chess for Change Academy began by providing accessible, intellectually engaging learning opportunities to underserved students. As its impact expanded, the organization was formally incorporated in 2026 as Chess for Change Academy Inc., enabling it to scale its programs and outreach. Since its early development as an initiative, Chess for Change has taught over 1,100 students, delivered more than 1,500 instructional lessons, and built a team of 15 mentors, including Suvir Aylawadi, who provide structured coaching and guidance. Through free workshops, tournaments, community sessions, and open-access educational resources, the organization has reached over 10,200 people, extending its programming across underserved regions.
